About us
e-CRAFTS: Fostering local craft and e-commerce for women at risk of social exclusion is a European project designed to promote the social and economic inclusion of women in vulnerable situations by strengthening their digital and entrepreneurial skills within the craft sector. Despite the growth of e-commerce, many talented women artisans face significant barriers to entering the digital market due to a lack of training, structured support, and resources to promote their products.
To address these needs, e-CRAFTS offers a comprehensive learning pathway that combines an accessible MOOC with in-person workshops in each participating country, together with the creation of the E-CRAFTS Marketplace platform, where women will be able to promote their products and connect with customers, strengthening their presence in the digital Marketplace, and generate real opportunities for economic autonomy. The project also incorporates mentoring and support networks that help participants overcome personal and structural challenges, facilitating their participation in the digital economy.
The project was designed based on a needs analysis carried out in five European countries, which highlighted the shortage of training opportunities and the difficulties associated with family responsibilities and digital gaps. Furthermore, e-CRAFTS aligns with the European Union’s priorities in digital transformation, gender equality, and skills development, offering an innovative, sustainable, and needs-based solution to foster women’s participation in key sectors of today’s economy.

We ensure strong collaboration through efficient coordination among all partners, fostering teamwork, transparency, and inclusiveness. This work package is dedicated to achieving the project’s objectives by maintaining clear communication, supporting joint decision-making, and generating meaningful societal impact through solidarity and collective effort.
Work Package 2: Training and Certification
MOOC and Training Environment focuses on developing an innovative and accessible training program to equip women with essential digital entrepreneurship and e-commerce skills. The program includes structured modules on online store creation, digital marketing, financial management, and business sustainability, complemented by interactive content such as videos, practical exercises, games, and simulations. Materials are designed to be inclusive and accessible, applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and WCAG standards, and promoting practical, experience-based learning based on real-life scenarios. Partner organizations will strengthen their capacity in digital training through collaboration and internal learning. Expected outcomes include a measurable increase in digital skills and empowerment among participants, the creation of high-quality training materials, and the establishment of a sustainable, replicable model that supports women’s economic autonomy and long-term impact in the craft sector.

e-CRAFTS Platform focuses on the development, implementation, and validation of the E-CRAFTS digital platform, designed to support women entrepreneurs in the local craft sector. The platform will be tailored to the needs of the target audience, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for women with different levels of digital literacy. It will provide tools for training in digital skills and e-commerce, promoting the autonomy and sustainability of participants’ craft initiatives.
The platform will also serve as an online space for showcasing participants’ work, connecting with customers or investors, and accessing resources for business development. Its usability and effectiveness will be validated through a structured pilot program, with feedback used to optimize functionalities before the final launch. A practical user manual will support autonomous use and ensure long-term impact, while the coordination and collaboration between partners will strengthen the quality and sustainability of the project outcomes.
Work Package 4: National Workshops and Testing Phase
National Workshops and Testing Phase focuses on engaging and empowering women at risk of social exclusion through practical training in social entrepreneurship within the local craft sector. The workshops provide participants with key skills to develop, manage, and sustain their own projects, directly contributing to economic empowerment, social inclusion, and the development of local communities. They also foster creativity and innovation, essential elements for successful entrepreneurial initiatives.
In addition, the workshops include pilot testing of the e-CRAFTS platform and interactive virtual learning environment. Participants provide direct feedback on usability and functionality, allowing the platform to be optimized to meet real user needs. Mentoring and coaching sessions are integrated into the workshops, offering personalized guidance and ongoing support to help women overcome challenges, build confidence, and maximize their potential as entrepreneurs.
